Clean water and sanitation has always been a point of focus for the Twesiga Mukama Federation. The federation has worked on projects centered around building wells and tippy taps, as well as educating communities about the importance of hygiene and sanitation. This has been essential in improving the quality of life of individuals living in Uganda, as well as in preventing the spread of water-borne diseases.

The Twesiga Mukama federation has played a major role in supporting various incoming generating projects including mat weaving and a pig husbandry program. These have been sustainable ways to generate income and food for communities in Uganda, and empower women to generate sources of income for their families.

A large piece of the Twesiga Mukama Federation's approach is facilitating self help groups for women, which focus on income generating projects for women, as well as educational classes.  There are currently almost 200 self help groups, and the goal is to have all of the women in Masaka involved in a self help group by 2030.
